About this event
Good health is the foundation of a strong community. Together with volunteer physicians, nurses and pharmacists from our community, BAC is hosting a free wellness fair focused on the health concerns most common among South Asian families.
Free services
- Blood pressure, blood glucose and BMI screening
- Cholesterol finger-stick tests (first 150 guests)
- Seasonal flu shots provided by a licensed pharmacy partner
- Vision checks and dental hygiene kits for children
- Private consultations with doctors, in Bangla or English
Talks & workshops
- 11:00 AM – Heart health and diabetes prevention in South Asian communities
- 12:30 PM – Mental health is health: recognizing stress and depression
- 1:45 PM – Navigating Medicare, Medicaid and the insurance marketplace
Healthy food
A nutritionist will run a cooking demo showing lighter versions of everyday Bengali dishes, with free tastings and printed recipes to take home.
All results are confidential and shared only with you. Screenings do not replace care from your regular doctor.
